The Half Acre Hike is a walk for charity. Half Acre owner, Gabriel, will be walking a case of beer up the lake 9 miles to the Heartland Cafe. Chicagoans will sponsor the walk for a local charity, First Slice, a not for profit that aims to feed hungry children in Chicago. Please come and join the walk and the fun. We hope to all be finished with the run, with a few minutes of downtime for water chugging and cooling down before 11. PJ Fischer of Half Acre will be hosting the dinner which will also be a sort of "Welcome to Evanston" for this entirely Chicago-based brewery. What’s better than a cold beer on a hot summer night? How about a Half Acre Beer on board a Shoreline Sightseeing boat! On Friday, July 23rd, Half Acre is partnering with Shoreline Sightseeing for a Brew Cruise featuring beer-tasting, food and fun. Brew Cruises will depart from Shoreline's dock at the west end of Navy Pier at 8:00 p.m. for a 90-minute Lake Michigan cruise complete with beer tasting, snacks from Harry Caray’s Navy Pier Tavern, background music and cash bar. The Festival will benefit the renovation of the previous Libertyville High School Brainerd Building for use as a community center.
