Amaro Hut began as a honey mixed culture beer that rested in barrels for nine months. It was then racked onto Montmorency cherries from King Orchards in Michigan. After eight weeks on the fruit, it was infused with a blend of nine classic amaro roots and botanicals. Eucalyptus and cola on the nose. Rhubarb and sweet cherry skins eventually finish as fresh garden herbs with woody undertones. Hints of mint and acidity keep it lively, while the amaro-like bitterness gently lingers. This beer was inspired by talks and drinks with Peter Johnson--a former Half Acre employee who is now the Head Distiller at Rhine Hall. Many thanks for his help in this experiment.
