Logue

Logue DIPA is a commemorative beer. Some months ago I found a bunch of scrap books out on a curb for the taking. I brought them home and found that each one was an incredibly detailed account of one man’s existence from the 1930’s through the 70’s. Hundreds of pages. Some are dedicated to his extensive world travel. He went EVERYWHERE and kept plane tickets, hotel food menus, steamship schedules, luggage tags....on and on. I’ve come to learn that he was one of eight brothers, all of whom died before the age of 65. He was single until marrying one year before his death. He lived in Detroit, loved the theater, dining, sports, safari and must’ve been an intense personality. Logue was his middle name.....

Stephan saw this beer through and really grabbed the ring when laying out his tasting notes: “this was a chance to focus on two of 2019's favorite hops in the brewery. There is a little bit of Amarillo in to add depth but the focus is all Cashmere and Sabro. A fluff malt bill stabilizes these two behemoth hop currents. Both explode in singular flavor waves, easy to pick out for what they are. In Logue, these two varietals have been grafted onto one another in so many ways you can't tell where one ends and the other begins. Greater than their individual sums, this 8.2% blended Tropics concoction breeds true synergy.” Stephan laid it bare...
